I like /daimo, but i can't use it until it has privacy. Currently it's too dangerous. Using @Payy until that is fixed in /daimo .

it was causal. turns out that sending money to people is a proxy for what you’re doing and with whom. so people would literally scroll their venmo feed to see what their friends were up to.

Right, it makes sense *then*. But I know many people *now* who have zero idea that their Venmo activity I s public.

on Venmo? they definitely knew, that was my point. the revealed preference is that people are okay with some activity being public if it means they can see what their friends are doing.
