I think the games controls are meant to be challenging. Because it’s in a 3d space moving vertically the controls are left and right like normal. but when the snake is horizontal a left turn is a down swipe and a right turn is an up swipe. It’s definitely a rough learning curve but once you get the hang of it, I think It’s pretty cool.

Yes this was my first game so it’s not everything it should be. I am much better at playing on pc, im not sure if you have one but it seems a lot of the top players all use pc to get there scores
