oh nice. I do like Ballard. I've only read a couple by him--one was a kind of cocaine-ish noir-ish california-ish novel.

I found a volume that collects some of Ballard's novels 
The Wind from Nowhere 
The Drowned World 
The Drought
The Crystal World

I'm reading the third one and they all talk about environmental disasters
