I’ll be honest - yesterday was one of the happiest days of my life… I know it’s silly to cry in the line at the county clerks office… But fuck it, I did. Believing in myself, in my own dreams, my own abilities… I truly felt like I could *see* myself for maybe the first time… It’s a dumb piece of scrap metal, a vanity plate… But it’s been sitting there ready since October and I haven’t had the mindset to pick it up… Work’s not finished, I’d say to myself… Maybe tomorrow… And then it clicked… something else entirely. No one told me to make a Showbus. To name it after my family’s bar, a place where I hold some of my first memories, falling asleep in my dad’s office chair while people danced the night away. The Showbar. To call out to my childhood dream of having a stage of my own… to share it with anyone else who believes in the spark… To believe in the fire in your heart. It’s just a piece of scrap metal. A vanity plate. But fuck it, I know what it means to me. I know what it feels like to believe in a dream unseen.
