There are only 21 million Bitcoins. Although it has been just 15 years since its creation, over 19 million have already been mined, leaving an increasingly limited supply. The cost to mine Bitcoin continues to rise. Additionally, around 4 million Bitcoins were lost forever due to being casually stored or discarded when the price was extremely low in the early days.
