Yea vicinity meaning just driving distance. Def not tryna fish in the actual rivers

You *can* go fishing without leaving NYC if you want to eat fish from the East River but it's definitely worth going out to Long Island during bluefish season because it's beautiful, better water and really fun. You can go to Jones Beach or make it a weekend in Freeport or Montauk or so many great places. Can fish from shore or a boat.
