I guess retro/public goods funding is trying to solve this

Value creation by a platform of protocol ultimately needs some value capture somewhere in the stack, aka “fee”

Well I’m not saying take rates are a bad thing, just that if you think they are a problem of web2 then it’s not consistent to say crypto solves it

Agree with you though re AI making ux less of a moat 

And even with protocol level fees, depending on the protocol, can just fork it to create a free version

Think the only real moat would be a liquidity moat like uniswap

AI fixes this. Once it gets good enough that anyone can spin up a front end then that solves any value extraction by pretty interfaces built on smart contracts.

Take rate is fine. But we need to compress them.
