Pretty interesting that Abstract is built on ZkSync and not the Superchain.

Could be the first example of an L2 not on the Superchain having a major moment that I can think of in some time.

You could argue Hyperliquid is another example but this one feels different cause it's going after consumer and all the other consumer L2s (Base, Zora, Soneium, etc) have all launched on Superchain.

Interesting times in onchain history for sure

From ABS POV it doesn’t really make sense to launch on Superchain and pay so much rev share to Optimism

They also are not short for cash and don’t really need retro funding incentives to get ppl to build on abstract

And their users prob don’t care about kumbaya brand narratives

Really why should any big chain launch on Superchain? I think it makes sense for small chains that benefit from the distribution and incentives. Big chains im less sure

For example it seems clear to me that superchain benefits from base more than base benefits from superchain
