I don’t understand what problem is being solved for devs and users by scaling Ethereum L1. Can you smarties enlighten me?

Idrk but I think some people feel like L2s are too centralized and too much of a political decision so they want to be able to use the L1 again but fees make it unviable

and these people presumably feel L1 scaling can happen faster than L2’s can reduce their trust assumptions?

unironically they prolly do think that but i'm not sure it's grounded in reason as much as just having a singular packaged call to action to ask of ethereum "leadership"

like there is a desire to say "devs do something" and the consensus "something" has been decided to be a nice neutral phrase "scale the L1"
