Sharing some thoughts on an idea I've been thinking about: Warpcast Plugins Open to feedback! cc @dwr.eth https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IFarvs6pXZi9597-DaVvXTLLeL2jenmhg106wakalgY/edit?usp=sharing

Main idea here is that while it's great in theory that anybody can build an alternative client, in practice it doesn't make sense or may be a futile effort depending on the purpose of the client. Plugins potentially fix that gap by allowing for customizability at the Warpcast layer

Flink as a side project already getting more sign ups than Warpcast is a sign that a sufficiently motivated developer can compete.

Yeah Flink is the best counterexample. And it's still small and early enough to where it's totally possible for more clients to emerge and get similar behavior, kinda like nouns

iOS and Windows worked because they did the initial work to get a sufficiently sized user base. We’re at least 100x away from that to be meaningful enough for venture-backed clients to care. Until then, expect more hobbyist and open source projects or using FC graph to bootstrap (vs. primarily a client)
