One of my favorite documentaries “If a Tree Falls” covers the story of the ELF (earth liberation front) in the 90’s, a headless eco terrorist group that committed mass arson in the name of raising climate issues. Near the end they covered the lives of a few members that didn’t take plea bargains and were being charged with terrorism. There was a lot of debate over whether that was justified, and what constitutes terrorism. One quote from an officer has stuck in my brain since: “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter”
