Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world, standing at an elevation of 8,848.86 meters. It is located in the Himalayan mountain range, on the border between Nepal and Tibet (China). Known locally as Sagarmatha in Nepal and Chomolungma in Tibet, Everest is one of the most popular destinations for professional climbers. However, climbing it is extremely challenging and risky due to harsh weather conditions, low oxygen levels, and natural hazards.
