Like super early it was wrapped around criticism of this app when twitter became X and bluesky was in the picture and everyone was thinking “ok so what makes farcaster different” and “farcaster is just super crypto and will choke itself out if it doesn’t get bigger than that” The responses here were very much “its better trust us” with varying degrees of contentiousness. But that’s honestly normal for users who take to a platform and want to protect it. The only other thing that was weird early on was the group think around the election and other political topics that felt sanitized here and folks who were actively going free Palestine were met with some weird rhetoric that didn’t feel great. I don’t think there was retribution but I do know people did leave the app from that or significantly reduced their usage.
