Updated the warpcast UI kit. It’s not perfect by any means but a fun project ;)

Haha thanks! However, designing infotainment for cars is super interesting and extremely hard to do. There is a lot more that goes into it then it looks ;)

No wonder those companies can’t figure it out in more than a decade now since we have tablet UI

A tablet and HMI are very very different things. For a car you have to think about safety, regulation, attention<>distraction, reach, regions, suppliers, and much more… You are going 100miles per hour in a killing machine. Not watching netflix on your sofa :)

if you were to name the biggest thing slowing down the process what would it be? also many of those regulations I can imagine were in place even before tech came out, and unlikely new ones are getting added effectively with the last tech in mind and tesla got a tablet thingy no?

Tesla has one of the worst rated hmi’s because they are dangerous to use while driving. New regulations come out almost daily and differ from region to region. A simple icon or sound could be regulated. That makes it interesting to figure out how to design for it. Keep in mind a car has huge amounts of tech in it.

Holy, that sounds challenging but also super interesting. Do you mind to share for which company you are working and maybe discuss more about the detailed thoughts you put in? πŸ€”
