Biggest thing holding onchain music back (and music in general) is anytime someone tries something new people find ways to shoot it down because it doesn't directly benefit them.

There's such a scarcity mentality around music that it's no surprise most people don't consider it to have value.

I think music is harder to share and verify, whereas you can just display a jpeg just anywhere easily.
Like another art form, music does have value, I think it's all about the right incentives and hype to attract both listeners and creators en mass.
