Thank You so much, Kuntal. The aperture value depends on what we want to show and the light condition. For example, most of my portraits are close portraits with more details. So, I always use f4 and above to get more details. Mostly f4 - f5.6 is the right value for my portraits. If the light is unavailable, I have to use a wider aperture like 2.8. I also look for the background and there should not be any distractions. More than the aperture, light is very important and we should decide how to use natural light to get what we want. Some of my friends shoot with very wide aperture. It also depends on our choice. I dont say my portraits are street portraits. I talked to them and get permission before taking the shot. Once they are very comfortable with me, then only I take portraits of them.
