The only thing the oppressor has is pessimism. There is no advantage to Twitter over Farcaster, other than the network effect. Windows over Linux. Fiat over Crypto. SMS over encrypted messengers. It's all network effect. The network effect is nothing more than pessimism. The person says "Yes that solution is better, but it's unlikely to succeed" I may not have a lot of money. I may have failed a lot in the past. But I got optimism. And as long as you have a little as well, we can win

we need to do everything possible to reduce the "perceived switching costs" for normies. it's the thing that constrains network effects.
