There was once a theory that Ethereum L1 provenance would be required for an NFT to hold a higher threshold of value. Do we still believe in that theory?

I think its far far far too early to say one way or another.

I would say it's not a requirement, I will say we're so early in l2 "legitimacy/longevity" conversation.

One way to look at it is the chain is your canvas of choice. We don't know what canvas people will love in 5,10,15,20+ years yet
