Korean investors see gains from Bitcoin and gold, losses in local stocks this year
A recent report from Daishin Securities indicated that Bitcoin and gold have been the most profitable investments for South Koreans this year, according to The Korea Economic Daily. While Bitcoin increased by 30.46% and gold by 26.16% since the start of the year until Sept. 11, investments in local stocks saw losses. An ETF tracking the S&P 500 Index gained 17.30%, in contrast to an ETF following the KOSPI 200 Index, which experienced a 7.54% decline over the same period. The KOSPI stands for the Korean Composite Stock Price Index.
