The ultimate move is to use it all at once in front of them, like with water bottles

A few years ago, I got introduced to the idea of local currencies. I first thought it could be enabled by smart contracts but then maybe deploying geo-specific L2s might make more sense. I also wonder how we could address the "subgroup suddenly gets isolated from general group" issue and state resolution among forks

To answer the initial question (not discussing Tailscale atm), yes you'd have to forward port 22. I recommend using public key authentication and disabling pw auth. Installing fail2ban is also recommended. Additionally, there's a possibility to whitelist specific IPs if you wish.

One mempool to rule them all. We should stop switching networks, and ideally all L2s take (and signal they're processing) txs from the mainnet mempool. Not sure yet how to implement. But L2s could take txs they are specialists for. Wdyt @vitalik.eth

You mentioned your laptop's reth node : how do you deal with port forwarding & such ? I'm curious about the differences of a portable node (and, I suppose, not active 24/7).

I love the form factor of NUCs but I'd love to see that in more modular builds like traditional desktops. Best I have found yet is mini itx, but it's still significantly larger

Just wrote my first EIP ! It is not groundbreaking stuff but I hope it constitutes a first step towards more meaningful contributions to the Ethereum protocol from my part. Thanks @vitalik.eth & al. for cultivating this ecosystem's ethos, I particulary love its openness. https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs/pull/8355
