w t f π why is this a thing in the US? π€ i mean i'm pretty sure they came by car...why do they have to carry those huge guns inside of that restaurant? i really love america...since my childhood i only was into american sports...as a german i never was into soccer and only loved baseball, basketball and american football (we had a baseball and basketball field in our village because of a huge american soldiers station there and we as kids were allowed to play there too...after the soldiers left we also had an own baseball team there) so my big dream always was to visit the USA but this type of shit is kinda frightning tbh lol π i guess it's just in some states allowed to carry guns that openly right? and if so hopefully in not so many! π€£

The right to bear arms is in the US Constitution. Itβs been so politicized for decades that people do stuff like this as a political statement. A powerful lobbying group called the NRA ensures that this right is never taken away. I support this. I do not support the idea of owning assault rifles or military grade weaponry. There are many ways owning guns can be made safer. The lobbying group works actively to kill any bills put forth by Congress toward this end. There is a middle ground somewhere, but not enough of us want to negotiate it. In the meantime, the University of Washington compiled the following research on gun violence: https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2021/03/24/980838151/gun-violence-deaths-how-the-u-s-compares-to-the-rest-of-the-world
