A little random but trying to figure out where to go for a week for my wife's bday but struggling for ideas, maybe you'd have some recommendations? We love the vibes of lisbon, amalfi coast, santorini. Not italy (weve been and weve already got a trip planned there for next year). We were just in France. Could also be somewhere in the states. Gotta be near water, and ideally not difficult to get to (like albania that says 3-4 hour ride once you get there). Any places you've loved that you recommend i look into? 69 $degen

couple options on the water europe: croatia fits this vibe, but might need a week and a half, it’s island hopping and laid back but gorgeous - fly to dubrovnik, then islands hit korcula, hvar, and vis - this is one of the most beautiful place’s i’ve visited, amalfi vibes istanbul i still think it prob the most fascinating city i’ve been in europe and it’s on water, but obv different than traditional europe depending time of year can’t go wrong w the west coast of ireland- ring of kerry, dingle peninsula, dingle peninsula states: kinda depends where u have been i personally love the drive down the pacific coast - fly to seattle, drive oregon coast, then highway 1 from northern cali down to san francisco, fly home from sf - there are so many great places to stop along the way, but this isn’t a stationary week i like charleston and savannah on the east coast

oh yeah if u do sicily i have a bunch of recs i like the east + southeast, for one week here's what i'd do - would need rental car but it's easy to drive there on interstate and nothing is that far of a drive below >fly to catania, one night there the day u get in don't need any more. >mount etna if u like any hiking, it's fascinating up there if u have a clear day >taormina - one day, if u do etna u can come down and stay here and then spend next day there, if don't do etna could go straight there it's easy drive from catania >ortigia - if i was gonna stay anywhere 2-3 days this would be the place for me, best spot to get out on the water in a boat around the city, also good beaches near by w crystal clear water, beaches on east are best >ragusa ibla and modica can be done in one day if you go inland to see these, both are super unique and unesco sites, can stay night in either, i lived in modica 2 months so would be able to give u a lot of recs - there is also good wineries in this region if u like that
