i’ve been thinking a lot about how in the digital world we live in, every little action carries so much weight.

who follows whom first? who texts whom first? can you follow this person? what are the unspoken rules of commenting on posts? the semantics of social interactions, the effort you put into relationships, the constant calibration of your reactions based on the last exchange is actually very exhausting.

we’re always keeping score. but for a while, maybe it’s okay to forget the score. to express and share your energy simply because you feel it, not as a calculated response to what you might receive in return.

sure, some might think you’re too enthusiastic, a little weird, or even "too much." but that’s a small price to pay for the chance to find people who will light up right alongside you.
