Hardest thing about being single female on the road is not knowing about a lot of trailer stuff and being short. Everyone thinks it’s safety but it’s not that. It’s not being able to reach stuff. Welp, I kept learning and figured out how to have a vertical bike/ kayak rack with a swing arm hitch thing that I can roll out to still open back doors. And so far it hasn’t given me any issues and I can put my bike and kayak on with only a little assistance. No one will ever know the amount of effort/ research that took though. Yeesh.

I only started to think about this as an issue because of my wife. She's like 4 inches shorter than me, but it makes such a difference when it comes to simple basic things at home. Since then I was consulting with her even when I was drilling holes for a new rack and mounting it. And now you opened my eyes for the second time, it's a tricky task to make van external gear convenient for people with different height. Say, simple thing like ladder to the roof should be extendable (like on yachts) or mounted lower 🤔
