There's likely a lot of spam / bot accounts here (even with 80% connecting a Twitter account). One of the reasons it will take a couple months to turn on permissionless (in theory we could just flip the switch). Only if the cost is constant relative to the value gained by spamming. If kept at $5 signups it eventually just becomes a cost of doing business and not a deterrent See all the pollution's and privacy violation fines that companies just pay as part of business... Or all the spam that's on xer now
