There's likely a lot of spam / bot accounts here (even with 80% connecting a Twitter account).

One of the reasons it will take a couple months to turn on permissionless (in theory we could just flip the switch).

cost is a great spam deterrent so that’s cool/exciting for the protocol itself

Only if the cost is constant relative to the value gained by spamming. If kept at $5 signups it eventually just becomes a cost of doing business and not a deterrent
