Allegedly the race to #5G is over.  Why? According to this article:

1. High costs
2. Unreasonable hype and expectations
3. Lack of definable use case (other than #FWA)
4. $VZ and $T still using 4G core
5. $DISH has fewer subs than when it started

5g always seemed like an answer looking for a problem. People don’t need half a gigabit on their phones. They want coverage and 5g has worse coverage.

Well it’s gigabit for the cell, an cell with thousands of people like in city centers does need gigabits.
