hey everybody – know it's been a busy week on the timeline and i wanted to just close out the week with a few notes: 1. we started coining @base's content because we believe that unlocking coins to be used for more use cases is a key next unlock for the onchain economy and a powerful tool for helping creators earn from their creativity. if you're still trying to wrap your head around what that means and why we're doing it, attaching a good overview in the reply below — 15m on 2x. 2. there was a lot of chatter around whether this was Good or Bad. this is coming from a place of our culture being used to one way of using coins and now us introducing another. we expected this, but to be honest, at times it felt a little scary! i can't predict the future, but i hope that that we'll continue to see folks look at the technology with clear eyes and see how we can use it to bring more people onchain.

3. this morning i also posted a piece of art someone coined, which (among many phrases) said "base is for pimping". to be 100% clear: this was made by a creator i wanted to support (not me or base marketing), and it was a single phrase among many, but i'll own this was a mistake and apologize. i'm sorry. i unequivocally back artists to create without fear on base and i support provocative art — but the messages i share matter, especially when they look and feel like a direct message from me. i'm going to keep experimenting and sometimes i'll make mistakes. when i do, i'll own them, take the L (learnings), and figure out how to do better next time. keep building, stay based.
