Dencun has been activated on the Holesky testnet!

Without any hiccups it seems like, so exciting!

I do wonder though, with dencun, it's blobs and other optimizations, the gas costs of Ethereum are presumably going to be much lower.

Will this decrease the rewards for home stakers and disincentivize them a bit?

The common counter argument i see around is that cheaper txs will incentivize more/different activities. So e.g txs will be 5x cheaper, but there will be 5x more so it'll balance out on L1. 

We'll see if that actually happens! 🤞

Very good point, I hope that's how it will turn out - but I guess it will take some time for those activities to come around, so there could be a slump of validator rewards until then...

Anyhow, exciting times are coming to Ethereum!
