The polar bear is a powerful predator of the Arctic's cold regions. Its thick fur and layer of fat provide crucial insulation against the extreme cold. With large paws designed to walk on ice and snow, it is well-equipped for navigating the frozen landscape in search of seals. Though an excellent swimmer, the polar bear faces a significant threat from climate change, which is causing the Arctic ice to melt and threatening its habitat and food sources. The loss of sea ice due to warming temperatures makes it harder for polar bears to hunt and travel, endangering their survival.
