Someday we will have 1 trillion humans spread across our solar system

creating and destroying; built flying cars & autonomous vehicles, now building roc.camera, writings: july.rocks

I have this default vision of the future too (perhaps influenced by popular scifi), but I wonder if gaining enough confidence in our technologies can allow us to forego infinite growth?

Would we need or want a trillion humans if we can live forever? If we're cybernetic? If we create artificial life that coexists with us?

If we were fully confident that our consciousness will persist as long as we will it, and we have infinite abundance, can we imagine being satiated with thousands?
