iI's wild to me that we live in a world where web2 people and web3 people can each write a thorough well-cited essay on the same topic and probably have zero cited sources in common.

This is a great example, an information science professor who I am sure is very smart and experienced in web2 suggests that an open data protocol simply makes some data... non-public.

Imagine building your whole career in a world where everything is a SaaS silo. Totally understandable, but still wild.
