I'm sure there are technical ways to analyze this but basically ETH drops like a stone and is slow to bounce (or doesn't), contrast that to BTC where dips are usually eaten up quickly.

How does EF think about systemic pressures on $ETH price?

Clearly economic security depends on the token having value, so it has to be considered, but also there is a strong reluctance to be price-focused. (EIP-1559/"ultrasound money" being counter-examples.)

I wonder how this is perceived internally, if it's a priority/actively discussed and researched, or if it's largely left out.

Ethereum is - among other things - an economic system, and the people who spend their days thinking about how to make that system better definitely think about it and talk about it (you've probably seen lots of EF researchers do so!)
