i like to think of market movements in terms of time rather than % change. welcome to may 2024, a regression of 11 months! (QQQ is my go-to spot check, what's yours?)

Following the uncertainty around the recent tariffs being settled, what do you think the rest of the year holds for the market?

🤷 the reason i like time-based rather than %-based is because our society is structured around "number go up" ponzi (interest rates, GDP, social security, everything). on a long enough timescale, the market always goes up. so really it's a time offset: did we gain a year? lose a year? lose 5 years? who knows. we're definitely losing at least a year.
