I think a lot of people like and appreciate zcash's technology contributions, but don't love the token distribution and issuance.

issuance i get, same security budget problem as bitcoin distribution is interesting though bc people hate the dev fund, but its 20%. in 2016, compared to btc, it seemed steep, but compared to newer projects, 20% is nothing. and the money clearly went toward r&d

It's not the amount, but it's the lack of credible neutrality.

how is it less credibly neutral than the EF selling eth and timing the market? nothing against EF either, people need to get paid, but the different approaches effectively achieve the same goal. many (most?) coins in the top 20 you could argue are less credibly neutral

EF is not forever enshrined to receive a portion of every block reward? I'm not complaining about allocations from a decade ago, especially when they're negligible today. EF is probably the smallest funder of infra at this point, there's at least 10+ other larger ones today.

For all intents and purposes, EF is equivalent to any early participant who also did a great job at being subtractive and becoming less important over time. This is critical for credible neutrality, rather than have an entity that is grasping for power.

the dev fund is not enshrined, and there are plenty of less successful forks without one. not complaining either, i think ef is great but i also like the devfund and although not enshrined, early eth devs and adopters can stake, which is effectively the same. im not against it either, but its a similar outcome
