bots were actually good for business. my launch posts used to get 500-1000s of likes (with hundreds of clickthroughs). today I'm lucky if it hits 50. if bots boosting my posts meant real users were more likely to see them as well, I gladly take the tradeoff

High level, this is an argument that we should just abandon any control of our timeline algorithm and just hand it off to whatever strategy bots happen to be using? Like others pointed out, there's no guarantee that bots are fair or will remain consistent/favourable to you, right? Maybe one day I'll launch a bunch of bots that only amplify Canadians or something silly.

i didn't mean this in a way that bots were only favorable to me, it felt like engagement overall was higher for everyone

Ah so you're saying all real people were more active on Farcaster before than now, and bots were responsible for catalyzing people's activity?

DAUs didn't drop that much according to https://dune.com/pixelhack/farcaster but it felt like I was getting more engagement from both bots and real accounts
