What's the magnitude of negative externality from @dune.eth buying the sim.io team and killing evm.storage? Auditors relied on it, now there's no substitute. Maybe the next billion dollars North Korea steals will be because of this? At least evm.codes was OSS from the same team so it's still around.

While we should all be grateful for free/subsidized SaaS, we must distinguish that it's not a public good. evm.storage was filling an important need, but there was no urgency to create a non-ruggable OSS alternative. Now it's gone, but audits must go on, sensitive contracts continue to be deployed. The work continues, but the quality dropped across many use cases. We'll get a replacement eventually, but until then: At what cost?
