So many of the issues with crypto stem from a few simple facts: getting crypto sucks, holding crypto sucks, using crypto sucks. Scalability opens the door for non-financial apps but the wallets and on-ramps are still completely broken.

Wallets are so entirely busted it's wild. No one can use any of this stuff without fear of losing all their money. People have less than $1k in their bank accounts and you think they're not gonna be anxious putting 50% of that into a wallet?

Anyway this topic frustrates me. Before normal people can use crypto for normal things, it needs to not be terrifying to use.

I think it's extra frustrating because we can see a path towards fixing this in ways that weren't possible before, whereas in meatspace these things are just permanently broken. (Getting a hammer sucks, not losing the hammer sucks, using a hammer sucks.)

Honestly most frustrating is the fact that we can see a path towards fixing it and yet... where is the progress? I still have hope that L2s can help solve because the protocol is suddenly more malleable again. Wallets and protocols need to work together very tightly.
