Definitely useful in an apocalypse! We used it to heat up food during a power outage once. 🤪 

That said, it is a fair bit of work. Too much to spin up for just one pie, we usually do 4-6 to make it worthwhile. A pizza steel in the oven gets you 70% of the way there with much less effort. That last 30% is delicious.

So are these things as awesome as they seem? 

I'm not inclined to buy cooking things which I can't make use of in the apocalypse.. But this seems like one of them.
