Crypto has only two modes:

1. The smoothest easiest onboarding imaginable, so good that we can't imagine ever going back to anything else.

2. The worst onboarding imaginable, bouncing between different providers, verifying an email address for some reason, half a dozen captchas, install a new wallet and fund it, turn on your webcam for KYC, upload wet-inked paperwork, stab yourself in the eye twice to prove you're human, relocate to a different country, stake your life's savings, elect a dictator... then maybe you can have the privilege of paying 0.001 ETH to try a dapp.

Nothing in between.
