Is it illegal to give away money to followers?

What if I said I would give 1 ETH to a randomly chosen follower this Friday? 

Screw it, let's do it. I'm gonna give someone 1 ETH on Friday.

Is it a tax deductible expense to give away 1 ETH that someone gave away to you?

If I win, I'll give away the 1 ETH to a randomly chosen follower who recasts this with what they'll do with 1 ETH.

I think it can be argued as a custody transfer or expense too 🙃 I'll just hope I don't win.

pretty sure they'd be separate transactions so you'd be taxed for both 💀 (you and the second receiver)
