Religious dogma has cast a dark shadow on the lives of numerous women across many regions of the world. From infancy, a girl’s thoughts, beliefs, and actions are force-fed and policed under her father's authority. Later, when she enters into marriage, that ownership is transferred to her husband.

Many girls are deprived of education and economic liberties. They have limited opportunities to assert their economic and social independence both before and after marriage. Many continue to endure ongoing abuse without any means of real escape.

The fear of facing social stigma, isolation, and the real threat of persecution by the authorities for leaving home and for dishonoring their family is a crippling force. These are the ruined lives of human beings who are dying and reliving the same nightmares every day until they take their last breath.
