In the late seventeenth century, Sir Isaac Newton conducted research on the color spectrum, investigating how each color is determined by a distinct wavelength of light. This led to the development of the color wheel by Newton in 1704. In the early twentieth century, Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung explored the psychological effects of color and developed a form of color therapy that allowed patients to express their emotions and thoughts through colors and images. Today, color psychology is predominantly applied in the realms of marketing and advertising.

Painting - Art with Pigment Generally, we'd classify painting as a visual art. The artist takes materials and applies them to a surface to visually represent something. It doesn't matter whether or not the subject of the painting is something real or abstract, if you've used a material with some kind of pigment in it, you've probably been painting.

Action painting, direct, instinctual, and highly dynamic kind of art that involves the spontaneous application of vigorous, sweeping brushstrokes and the chance effects of dripping and spilling paint onto the canvas. The term was coined by the American art critic Harold Rosenberg to characterize the work of a group of American Abstract Expressionists who utilized the method from about 1950. Action painting is distinguished from the carefully preconceived work of the “abstract imagists” and “colour-field” painters, which constitutes the other major direction implicit in Abstract Expressionism and resembles Action painting only in its absolute devotion to unfettered personal expression free of all traditional

graffiti, form of visual communication, usually illegal, involving the unauthorized marking of public space by an individual or group. Although the common image of graffiti is a stylistic symbol or phrase spray-painted on a wall by a member of a street gang, some graffiti is not gang-related. Graffiti can be understood as antisocial behaviour performed in order to gain attention or as a form of thrill seeking, but it also can be understood as an expressive art form.

Literature is any collection of written work, but it is also used more narrowly for writings specifically considered to be an art form, especially novels, plays, and poems.[1] It includes both print and digital writing.[2] In recent centuries, the definition has expanded to include oral literature, much of which has been transcribed.[3][4] Literature is a method of recording, preserving, and transmitting knowledge and entertainment. It can also have a social, psychological, spiritual, or political role.
