I can't wait until we have RAG for the entire internet, and search as we know it is obsolete

We've engineered ourselves out of community and don't realize what we've lost - or think we're better off, because we're avoiding small bits of discomfort. https://contrarianthinking.co/the-most-expensive-thing-youll-ever-pay-for/

I think if you're an excellent developer and can write excellent documentation, from what I hear from devs better than me, you can do a sort of documentation-driven-development approach But you have to have a fine intuition for the LLM limitations and be prepared for careful code review

just installed Claude Code, to analyze and eventually improve an open source Manus clone This seems really promising, and potentially addictive

I'm curious as well. I'm default skeptical of such projects, as they combine the two most over-hyped tech categories

I know there are some attempts at open source clones: https://github.com/nikmcfly/ANUS?tab=readme-ov-file https://github.com/mannaandpoem/OpenManus

I dunno, I think most of the straining in the learning process comes from poor pedagogy Teaching is what should be hard.

I'm troubled by many things the current US administration is doing, but I don't tend to speak out about it, because I'm not sure who I should be targeting my message to, and to what end. I don't want to be on any political team, but I do want to be empathetic to as many points of view as possible.

It's easy to call out a group for hypocrisy, because groups by their nature have a degree of incoherence, since they're composed of individuals with different ideas. If you want to change behavior, it's probably better to talk to people privately and gently.

Ok, having actually read the article, I have a few thoughts: AFAIK, the IDW as a community has disbanded. Its former members seem to have some irreconcilable political views now. I think it's good to encourage people to stand up for free speech, but when you're aiming your message at a group, it might not come thru

I think we're watching the death of Comparative Advantage being a guiding force in international trade. In the near term, political polarization is driving countries apart, and in the long term, automation creating an extremely elastic labor supply, means we'll see much reduced global trade

Totally against deportation. I tend to be close to the "absolutist" side of the free speech spectrum

Those terms have definitely been abused, but I think most people would agree on a good-faith definition of Capitalism at least. Isn't Capitalism simply a belief that there should be private property and free trade? "Free" is doing some heavy lifting, obviously
