yea basically my timeline is

- my parents never cooked more than utilitarian food outside of big holidays so never did in childhood
- military college (mess hall + no cooking allowed)
- actually military (lots of mess halls)
- grad school (dining hall)
- startups ever since (lots of fast meals/takeout)
