but i guess i have to overcome my shyness first, but getting out there too is a way to overcome that… sigh

I think you get better by practicing them as much as you can. Put yourself in situations where you have to communicate to succeed. When you find yourself in an argument or a challenging conversation, push through it instaed of running away from it.
