So Dan wants to fight Farmers, after posting this DAU chart a few days ago. @dwr.eth don't you know what caused that spike in users in the first place? A small hint for you: $degen. Don't try biting the hand that made you prosper, stop thinking as a web2 PM.

There needs to be balance. The reason FC was special was the lack of those 3 things here. Even the degen team removed 14k users from receiving the last airdrop (bots, farming)—that activity isn’t growing something sustainable for anyone. Can always build your own client where spam, bots & farming is welcome.

It is too early for an "own client". If this here would have same user numbers as Twitter/X, then yes. If something is as early as Farcaster/Warpcast you will not have enough users for your "own client" to secure enough income for continued development.

My point is you’ll start to lose those who actually contribute to qDAU and it’ll deteriorate until it’s unusable. qDAU has always been said to be the goal. Moderating some of these is part of that. I want real humans interacting with me. Not bots.
