In a society where humans have significantly extended (or eternal) lifespans, what are your views on how the family unit may evolve?

In a world without funerals, would humans "graduate" from families, or is there another form of closure and rebirth/restart?

I think we need to reopen the frontier. Traditional land frontiers are closed — so we use the internet, the sea, and then space.

If we do that, we have hard problems for people to conquer and expand into. You’ll need the longevity for the 1000 year interstellar voyage.
