today my thoughts were too dark… Between the 14th and 17th centuries, Europe went through a brutal wave of witch hunts. An estimated 40,000 to 60,000 people were executed — mostly women (75–85%). Germany and Switzerland saw some of the harshest persecution. Could women have done anything to change their fate in those times — or was the system too powerful?
