its hard not to read it as the EC trying to pick a fight with Meta via the DMA, and that Meta has won and the EC has lost dont see how any app trying to get whatsapp interop will deal with the hard req of only allowing users in the EEA https://matrix.org/blog/2024/09/whatsapp-dma/
