Although we believe that in general, legal action is unlikely, we understand that even the threat of legal fees is intimidating. Today, we're proud to announce a partnership with the SRLDF to provide financial assistance to whitehats facing such fees https://www.securityresearchlegaldefensefund.org/

The SRLDF has already been activated to award a grant to researchers from Dragon Sector, who were then able to disclose their key research into the security of train software despite threats of retaliation https://x.com/dsredford/status/1754185120989294990

Under this partnership, the SRLDF will also award grants for legal fees to whitehats who conduct good-faith research under the Safe Harbor Agreement. We hope this serves as an additional deterrent against frivolous lawsuits and gives whitehats additional peace of mind
